Job Duties

Drive improvements in data and infrastructure security posture for ODGA and Governor’s office. Manage and remediate security vulnerabilities. Develop security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with VITA Security and applicable regulations. Manage cybersecurity and phishing training program and ensure compliance. Perform scheduled control tasks such as access reviews, backup reviews, failover tests, etc. Gather evidence to meet control requirements and respond to audit requests. Remediate audit findings. Lead security incident response efforts as necessary. Stay current on security risks and communicate to ODGA team members Lead key data protection projects such as Cybersecurity Predictive Analytics and unstructured data scanning. Act as a security subject matter expert for ODGA projects to ensure data and infrastructure security is considered when architecting solutions. In accordance with Executive Order 44, all employees may be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration of the Governor. Likewise, employees not normally identified as “designated” may be required to assist the agency upon direction by their supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

The demonstrated ability to apply business knowledge, technical skills, and people skills to implement effective data privacy and security controls for data sharing, management, and analytics services; to collaborate successfully and achieve consensus among clients, stakeholders, and partners. An extensive knowledge of implementing and maintaining data security processes using SAAS solutions or building custom solutions. Extensive knowledge of IT infrastructure, applications, and security. Considerable knowledge in IT Security processes and implementing Cybersecurity best practices. Considerable knowledge of regulatory requirements and security standards. Extensive organizational skills in managing data as well as tasks. Considerable skill in the use of a personal computer with standard office software suitable for business administration and the creation of visually and verbally persuasive materials, presentations, and reports.

Additional Considerations

This position will be considered for 1 day a week telework.
