Our core competencies include conducting preliminary design of aerospace concepts, performing detailed multidisciplinary engineering analysis, developing commercial aerospace software, prototyping spacecraft hardware components, and conducting market and economic research within the aerospace industry. We serve clients from the Department of Defense, NASA, and the commercial sector.We are seeking a technician to work in our Innovation Center (Atlanta, GA). This position will be hourly full time and report to the Manager of Shop and Safety Operations.A DAY IN THE LIFE

  • Shop Assistant:
  • Help maintain work area in an orderly condition by returning tools, equipment and materials to storage areas.
  • Support engineering teams with fabrication, assembly, and test efforts.
  • Operate power tools, hand tools, and various measuring tools in support of prototyping efforts.
  • Service, troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and maintain equipment.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow manufacturing drawings.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Follow inventory control procedures to ensure that part types and quantities are tracked accurately.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and timelines.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams to provide updates on hardware development and inventory status.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Ability to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Must be U.S. Status

BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING

  • Experience maintaining an inventory system
  • A&P License
  • Experience welding
  • Experience with Mill and Lathe
  • Experience and ability to operate a forklift
  • Experience with procurement and vendor management
  • Experience with applying lean manufacturing principles, efficiency methods
  • Proficient with computers, the ability to use MS Office, shop floor management software (ERP/MES) and related programs
