Job Description

About Rivian:

Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.

As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.

Role Summary:

Rivian is seeking an incredibly creative individual who lives and breathes social storytelling and has a passion for telling the Rivian story through one of our executives. You’ll act as an ambassador and help share and amplify key moments and happenings at Rivian as they unfold, while finding opportunities to maximize and build the executive’s social presence across all platforms. You’ll ensure the resulting content is high quality, innovative and authentic. You’ll be part of our creative team and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure our storytelling is consistent and aligned with Rivian’s overarching narrative and brand strategy. You’ll make data-driven decisions, measure impact and improve overall social performance over time, leveraging both quantitative and qualitative metrics holistically.

To be successful in this role, you must thrive in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment, and tackle challenges with a flexible and solutions-oriented mindset. You will report directly to the head of our Content Studio within the Communications team and will work closely with our executive.

  • Develop and execute an authentic social strategy for Rivian’s storytelling through our executive.
  • Source and deliver compelling stories that help define our leadership, mission and products to a broad audience.
  • Work independently to lead and produce engaging and high-quality work, informed by proactive cross-functional collaboration
  • Continually assess and evolve form factors, creative techniques and channel strategy to maximize potential impact for this work.
  • Establish an influencer strategy for our executive.
  • Make holistic decisions informed by data; identify meaningful KPIs and measure impacts and performance by developing weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
  • Handle or escalate engagement opportunities.

  • 10 years of experience in social media, digital communications or journalism
  • Wild creativity, but paired with practical sensibilities and a knack for strategy
  • Self-motivated with excellent reporting and research skills
  • Enthusiasm for (and mastery of) existing and emerging social platforms – clear POV on how the social media landscape (and individual platform/channel opportunities) are evolving
  • A strong audience-centric mindset and gift for delivering content that provides audiences value
  • Experience with social media monitoring and identifying emerging narratives, trends, and stories

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing the social presence of a high-profile individual
  • Experience in automotive or technology
