Job Title: Associate Manager, Systems Engineering (Data Analytics Group Lead)Job Code: 18792Job Location: Rochester, NYJob Description:The Data Analytics Group (DAG) lead is responsible for project management (including schedule, budget, and technical scope) for all Cost Engineering data analytics projects. Management of the individual projects will be coordinated with cost engineering department strategies including requests for special project funds and/or approval for Indirect Labor (IDL) against various initiatives. Status and metrics of performance of the group are reported weekly to the Cost Engineering manager and recorded in Items of Interest (IOIs) for reporting to higher level management. The DAG lead will coordinate tasking for analytics needs outside core data analytics projects including the use of analytics resources on product lines and modeling pursuits. The DAG lead also oversees use of analytical tools and techniques in the broader Cost Engineering department including the approval of relevant Command Media Library (CML) documentation.Essential Functions:

  • Weekly team status meetings (currently includes Jira and quad chart tracking meetings)
  • Weekly Cost Engineering reporting
  • Technical engagement and mentorship on individual projects
  • Coordination with analytics groups outside of Cost Engineering (e.g. SAS Business Intelligence, and external entities like SW tool vendors or customer cost groups)
  • Functional leadership including career development, goal setting, training plans, vacation and time card approvals, etc. for DAG members
  • Recruiting, hiring and retention of DAG members
  • Strategic planning of future projects with core Cost Engineering leadership

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software, Physics, Mathematics, Aviation, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • Familiarity with Python, R, SQL, VBA (visual basic), Object-Oriented Programming, Git, VS Code, PowerBI
  • Familiarity with statistical methods and tools (including JMP, MiniTab, Excel)
  • Proficiency with project management tools: MS Project, Jira, Confluence

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $89,000 – $165,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. Expected salary: $89000 – 165000 per year
