STATE PROFILE SUMMARY: Under supervision, provides entry level professional support in one or more of the following areas: OMAT, maintenance, construction, intermodal, planning, utilities, surveying, environmental or traffic.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:· Under limited supervision, as an entry level specialist evaluates assigned technicians who are responsible for acceptance testing on construction projects.· Perform comparison tests on asphalt and concrete samples.· Perform Lab Technician evaluations on acceptance Test.· Coordinate efforts with contractors and GDOT personnel to ensure FHWA and Department requirements are met.· Review and prepare all reports and documentation.· Maintain Database for FHWA annual report.· Maintain a clean and serviced vehicle according to the department’s preventative maintenance program. Attend conference calls and meetings for any updates in work activity.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSThe selected candidate must meet the advertised minimum qualifications to include State Entry Qualifications as well as Agency Specific Qualifications.STATE ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS:· Bachelor’s degree in a related field· OR Associate’s degree in a related field· OR One year of experience at position equivalent.AGENCY SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:· One year of experience and knowledge of Georgia DOT standard specifications, sampling andtesting procedures, manuals and operating practices.· Must possess and receive certifications in GDOT Roadway Testing Technician, Asphalt PlantTechnician – Level 1 and Field Concrete Technician within 6 months.· Must be able to perform mathematical calculations related to field testing, includingpercentages and formulas.· Must possess a valid Georgia Driver’s License.· Committed to providing quality customer service.AGENCY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:· Experience using 411, Project Wise, and Site Manager/AASHTOware Project.· Possess Active GDOT Roadway Testing Technician, Asphalt Plant Technician Level 1 and Field Concrete Technician Certifications.IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL GDOT JOBSThe interview is just one part of the overall selection process and is not the only criteria used to make the final selection.
