Job Description

About the team

At Zillow, we’re passionate about empowering our customers to unlock life’s next chapter, and our Zillow Home Loans (ZHL) team is committed to doing just that. Zillow Home Loans focuses on providing innovative lending solutions and a seamless financing experience that helps our Buyers make informed financial decisions from the very beginning of their home shopping journey.

Our ZHL team sets out to create a suite of tools and experiences that help Zillow users find the right home and get financing with confidence. We aim to provide contextually relevant information early in the process, and efficiently nurture users throughout their journey in order to enable them to make informed decisions. Through deep integration with the full suite of Zillow offerings, we’re developing a trusted relationship with our users when it comes to seeking financing for their next home so that when it comes time to choose their lender, they choose Zillow Home Loans.

We are a cross functional team transforming the way Mortgage Operators serve home buyers: enabling them to make informed decisions while reducing the time, energy and anxiety needed to finance their new home.

As people use Zillow to dream and shop, they are continually confronted with the questions: “How much home can I afford?” and “Am I qualified for how much this home will cost me?” Zillow is uniquely positioned to answer these questions for our users in a way that is discoverable and accessible. When powered by Zillow Home Loans, this information becomes trustworthy and actionable.

In order for ZHL to answer these questions, we must learn about our users’ financial profile and their home ownership goals so that we can evaluate their eligibility for the various loan products we offer, after which we will be able to optimize a configuration of a personalized loan scenario to align with their goals.

Earning users’ trust early is only meaningful if we can keep their trust all the way to the closing table. Therefore we must ensure that this evaluation process is in alignment with the underwriting process they will undergo later on in the financing journey so there are minimal discrepancies between the eligibility decisions we make throughout the process.
