Learn more about our benefits that add real value to your life to help you live fully:WHAT YOU’LL DOThe Project Engineer will be based at Abbott Nutrition Columbus, OH facility and will oversee engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring they meet technical specifications, budget constraints, and deadline. The candidate will be expected to work with a cross-functional project team from project stakeholders to site representatives. Candidate should well versed in project management practices including Project Charter, Front End Planning, Cash Flow Projections, and Scope / Schedule Control.

  • Support the development of capital program scope by working with commercial, research and development, quality, manufacturing, and engineering teams.
  • Responsible for developing several scope options to evaluate and choose the best business case for the organization by working with multiple area finance teams.
  • Utilize engineering knowledge to support equipment design by properly preparing requests for proposal documentation, updating equipment specifications, and having detailed equipment design conversations with equipment suppliers.
  • Ability to manage several projects at the same time with multiple timelines and maintain adherence to internal process timelines.
  • Incorporates business foresight of emerging technological trends.
  • Performs tasks, such as writing Requests for Capital Expenditures (RCEs), safety / quality checklists, scope documents, etc.
  • Anticipates and resolves problems and crisis situations requiring fast, astute decisions with rapid implementation by utilizing technical training and / or experience.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRINGRequired:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Chemical or Mechanical Engineering degree is preferred.
  • 7+ years of significant engineering and / or operational experience.
  • A career history marked by a consistent series of contributions and accomplishments.
  • Demonstrated excellence in breadth and depth of knowledge within project management.
  • Interacts well with diverse groups within engineering and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators.
  • A technical background in health care, nutritional products, laboratory diagnostics, medical devices, pharmaceutical, or similar industries (preferred).
  • Travel 25%
