Growing together.The Director of Finance will help OptumCare Pacific Northwest Region (WA/OR) drive financial performance primarily around clinical operations, revenue reimbursement, developing scalable financial & performance reports, supporting the evaluation of organic and inorganic growth opportunities, and assisting with other high priority ad hoc deliverables. This person will drive work closely with regional leadership to prioritize of investments across Optum PNW to drive future revenue growth while maximizing financial returns.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead FFS reimbursement strategy and operations for contract carve-outs and cash pay services
  • Manage new CMS fee schedule deployment with operations and clinicians
  • Manage payor contract tool and liaise with revenue cycle operations/coding operations to ensure appropriate reimbursement
  • Provide support to Oregon FFS team which also manages PNW consolidations
  • Lead strategic initiatives
  • Oversee supply chain optimization efforts including support of vendor spend analyses
  • ASC optimization including improving profitability per case
  • Implementation of forecast tools
  • Evaluation and design of new services which allows finance business partners to focus on supporting operations

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Predictive Analytics, or similar area of study
  • 7+ years of progressive financial (including financial planning and analysis), or public accounting experience
  • Experience prioritizing & managing demanding workloads with concurrent deadlines
  • Experience as a trusted advisor and partner to those we serve in the business
  • Knowledge of GAAP, fundamental financial concepts and procedures
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency (Pivot tables, VLookups, Macros)
  • Intermediate to advanced level of proficiency with PowerPoint
  • Proven solid analytical skills and business acumen
  • Proven natural curiosity to learn more, dig into details, understand key drivers of our business
  • Proven ability to manage and synthesize large amounts of data
  • Proven ability to act decisively and proactively, anticipating change, and modify plans/timetables as needed
  • Proven ability to use proper discretion when dealing with confidential information exhibiting a high level of integrity

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or CPA
  • PeopleSoft Experience, Hyperion SmartView and/or Essbase
  • Proven excellent interpersonal relationship building and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Proven to be assertive, self-starting personality with a customer service attitude
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity and change
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrixed organization and with cross-functional partners

Washington Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $122,100 to $234,700 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
